The “Garden City” was a paddle-wheeler. It was brought into service in 1892 by the St. Catharines, Grimsby and Toronto Navigation Co. to provide passenger service between Toronto and Port Dalhousie. “Garden City” remained in service until 1916.
The N.S. & T electric rail line was extended to Port Dalhousie and Lakeside Park in 1901. Lakeside Park was run jointly beginning in 1920s by Canadian National Railway and the Niagara St. Catharines & Thorold Railway. The line terminated at the wharf.
