The Austin House was a 3 storey brick structure built in the late 1890's by John and Patrick Harrigan. It was renamed the Lakeside Hotel around 1977.
The post office is the wood framed building with the 2nd floor balcony to the right of the Austin House hotel. Known as the Stanton Building, it was constructed in 1896 by the village postmaster John Stanton. It operated as a combination post office and grocery store.
The building on the far right of the photograph was demolished c. 1972.
Port Dalhousie was amalgamated with St. Catharines in 1961. - Inscriptions
