Bisshopp was born on June 25th, 1783 in Parham House, West Sussex, England. His father was Sir Cecil Bisshopp, 12th Baron Zouche.
Bisshopp joined the British military in 1799. On Feb. 6, 1812 he was appointed Inspecting Field Officer of Militia in Upper Canada with the local rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. He sailed to North America three months after the outbreak of the War of 1812 and fought in campaigns in Upper Canada. He died from wounds received at Black Rock in mid-July 1813.
Bisshopp was buried in the village of Stamford, Upper Canada, which was amalgamated into Niagara Falls, Ontario. - Date de l'original
