Fort George was constructed from 1796-1802.The original complex was the principal British Military Establishment on this frontier and saw much action during the war of 1812.
Fort George was destroyed by the Americans in May 1813. The stone powder magazine was the only building to survive the War the 1812. - Date de l'original
