Dorothy graduated as a Registered Nurse at the Ottawa Civic Hospital in 1942. She moved to St. Catharines after the war and continued her nursing career as a private duty nurse. She eventually worked as head of the recovery room at Hotel Dieu Hospital from where she retired in 1982.
