Obituary Notice; Died at no. 40 Academy Street; He was one of the oldest residents in Niagara District; Also survived by his children Kathleen and Josephine; predeceased by Battle, John (father); predeceased by his wife; He was a bookeeper for and in charge of his father's office; He later had a partnership with Isaac Usher in the firm 'Battle and Usher' and they had railway contracts in the United States; Later on the firm Battle, Merritt and Company built the masonry work on the Canadian Pacific Railway.; He was a freight agent at Merritton for the N. St. C. and T. Railway; Member of the Thorold Separate School Board
