The "Lakeside" provided passenger service between Toronto and Port Dalhousie from 1892 to 1911.
The steamship "Lakeside" was originally operated by the Lakeside Navigation Company. However, Lakeside Navigation was purchased by the steamship subsidiary of the Niagara, St. Catharines & Toronto Railway after it extended its lines to Port Dalhousie in 1901.
By 1911 passenger traffic had increased to such an extent that the 348 ton "Lakeside" couldn’t keep up with demand and was replaced by the 1 256 ton "Dalhousie City." - Inscriptions
