The Wood House hotel was a 3 storey frame building situated on Front Street, directly across from Lock 1 of the 2nd Welland Canal.

The Wood House hotel opened in 1877 on the corner of Front and Lock Streets. It was destroyed by fire on Dec. 7 1884.

Port Dalhousie was amalgamated with St. Catharines in 1961.
