The structure in the middle of the image is the Hydro-Electric House with the large surge tank above it. This tank is connected to the hydraulic tubes carrying water from atop the escarpment. If the water comes down too fast for the generator to handle, excess water will surge up into the tank and prevent the generator from being damaged. - Inscriptions
