The St. Catharines Standard moved to this building at 21 Queen Street in 1898. The newspaper offices remained at this location until 2013 when the newspaper moved to 1 St. Paul Street.

The Linotype Machine was a commonly used to set type for newspapers, magazines and posters from the late 1800s to the 1980s.
