The Fred Fisher Memorial Plaque at the intersection of Yates Street & St. Paul Street West; outside the former Merritt Family House.

Fred Fisher was born in St. Catharines and was awarded the Victoria Cross for action near St. Julien, Belgium on April 23, 1915 during the second battle of Ypres. He was killed the following day. The Fred Fisher Memorial Plaque was unveiled on June 28, 1970.
