Fred Fisher was born in St. Catharines and was awarded the Victoria Cross for action near St. Julien, Belgium on April 23, 1915 during the second battle of Ypres. He was killed the following day. The Fred Fisher Memorial Plaque was unveiled on June 28, 1970. - Subject(s)
