Brock University opened in 1964. The first classes were held in St. Paul Street United Church and then moved to the former Frozenaire Building. The campus was moved to the top of the Niagara Escarpment in 1966. The university tower was completed in 1967, a year later than planned, and in 1983 was renamed the Schmon Tower in honour of Arthur A. Schmon, chairman and CEO of the Ontario Paper Co. and Chairman of the University Founding Committee. - Date of Publication
