The 19th Battalion formed in 1863 when 8 volunteer companies in Lincoln & Welland merged together. It was later separated into the 19th Battalion (Lincoln County) and the 44th Battalion (Welland County). They were remerged in 1936 to form the Lincoln & Welland Regiment. - Inscriptions
