He joined the Second Armoured Division during the war. He later held various positions with General Motors, having been trained in the engineering division eventually becoming service manager of different dealerships in Vichy, Nimes and Nancy (France). In 1957 he emigrated to Canada. He obtained employment at a GM dealership in Toronto. He later took courses in business and economics, held various positions in the lumber industry, and then held other posts in the sanitation and cleaning sectors where he retired as a Director of Marketing in 1987
