He was born in St. Catharines on September 5, 1855.
Predeceased by McSloy, Hugh J. (father); McSloy, Catherine Lucy (mother) (nee McArdie).
Operated a Bakery under the name of the McSloy Brothers.
He organized the Canada Hair Cloth Factory and was it's president.
He ran a dairy farm named "Martindale" with his brother.
He donated the land for the Library that was built on King and Church Streets and the site for the consumptive Sanatorium.
Predeceased by McSloy, Hugh (brother).
