The Oille Fountain was the first public fountain in St. Catharines. It was erected by Lucius S. Oille, mayor of St. Catharines and chairman of the committee that planned a water supply system. The fountain was designed by Sidney Rose Badgley who also designed the Carnegie Public Library and Welland Avenue United Church.
