The Arthur Schmon Tower was built in 1968 and houses the administrative offices for the university. The James A. Gibson Library also occupies 6 of the 13 floors of the tower. Schmon was the primary force behind getting a university established in the Niagara peninsula and was the chairman of the Brock University Founders' Committee, formed in 1962.
