He was a WWII radar specialist, he trained as an electrician , a high school teacher and he later became a vocational training specialist with the Ontario Ministry of Education. In 1967, he became the founding Principal and Dean of Technical Studies at Algonquin College in Ottawa.
He earned his B.A., M.Ed and in June 2017, he received an Honorary degree from Algonquin College
